Zapoint, a provider of Web-based Human Capital Management (HCM) software, and HR.com today announced a partnership that will bring several exciting new career growth tools to HR.com members. The alliance, announced at the 2009 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference in New Orleans, makes available Zapoint’s LifeChart™ technology to track, assess and enhance the individual’s personal career development, as well as a new HR.com Talent Network that connects members with colleagues, recruiters, employers and other resources throughout the HR industry.
Using Zapoint’s breakthrough LifeChart online service, HR.com members will be able to chart and objectively manage changes in their personal, educational and professional growth; in addition, the new HR.com-sponsored Talent Network and LifeChart offers advantages with various social networks, job boards, and employers.
LifeChart, a Zapoint exclusive, represents a new way to measure and compare key professional, personal and educational skills. The service uses a patent-pending algorithm to convert the individual’s traditional resume into a graphical depiction of personal development. As the person’s qualifications change, LifeChart reflects those changes in a timeline that also shows comparisons to industry norms. The result is objective, measurable information that the employee can use to enhance his or her value to their organization.
“Zapoint’s LifeChart is not only a fresh and powerful way for individuals to better understand their personal skill development, but also a means to enhance one’s career by turning qualifications into objective, easily compared data,” said Debbie McGrath, CEO of HR.com. “HR.com is continually seeking out innovations that help our members and advance the human resource field. We believe LifeChart is an innovation that HR.com members will find extremely valuable.”
By transforming resume information into a common “talent currency,” Zapoint’s LifeChart makes it easy for skills and achievements to be easily compared and ranked. The technology is the basis for the new HR.com Talent Network, also free for HR.com members. A compilation of job boards, social networks, resume distribution services and other Web-based communities, the HR.com Talent Network leverages the individual’s LifeChart to support direct connection with potential employers as well as other professionals who are interested in the person’s skills. The network allows such connections only after the individual accepts an introduction.
“The HR.com Talent Network, like our LifeChart technology, is designed specifically for professionals who are serious about advancing their career,” said Chris Twyman, CEO of Zapoint. “What’s more, it gives HR.com members the unique opportunity to sample a tool that is transforming the nature of talent search. This is truly a win-win development that will benefit members, their employers, and the HR industry.”
HR.com members can access LifeChart and the HR.com Talent Network through the HR.com Web site at www.hr.com. After registering for the service, the member simply uploads his or her resume, which is then automatically analyzed and transformed into a LifeChart. Members have the option of moving on to join the HR.com Talent Network if they wish.
