Click on the "My Groups" on the blue menu bar and the "groups directory" link in the submenu.
The groups available will be listed in alphabetical order. Groups which you have already joined will appear in the initial dropdown menu under "My Groups".
To join a group, click the "join group" link in the group's info box. If membership of the group requires the approval of the group owner, they will be sent an approval request. Once this is approved, you will receive a confirmation message and you will be able to access the group page.
Go to "view groups directory" and then click "create a new group" at the top of the directory page.
You will be asked to complete the details for your group and then a create request will be sent to Zapoint admin.
Once approved, you will receive an email from the Zapoint admin team to confirm that your group has been set up and it will then appear in the groups directory
If you have opted to approve every join request for your group, you will receive a notification email when a member has requested to join your group, which you can approve or reject.
Go to the Group's main page, by clicking on the group name in the submenu under "My groups" on the blue menu bar.
Below the group description is a search box. Enter the desired search criteria (name, company, location) and click the blue "search" button to search within the group.
If the search box is left blank, but a graduation year selected, the search result will include all members who graduated in that year.
Using the search box at the top of the page searches for public resumes on the entire Zapoint site, not just within the group. As many group members’ resumes are private and only visible to other members of the group, using the main site search box may not return the expected users.
Currently, you can search for other members of the group by name, city, country, citizenship and graduation year (where applicable). Expanded search parameters will be available soon, including industry categories
On the map, each marker represents a member or group of members. On the lowest zoom levels, nearby locations are clustered, but as you zoom in they are expanded into a marker for each member.
Select the area that you are interested in and click the marker. This will then expand to list the members represented by that marker. Where there are more names than can fit in the bubble, it will say "…and X more".
To see more precise location information and individual details, zoom in using the tools in the top left of the map image.
When you click on a member's marker, a bubble appears containing 3 tabs: "Who", "doing", and "why". The "who" tab contains the member’s name, nickname and a link to their Zapoint resume; The "doing" tab details the member’s current job role; and the "why" tab contains anything the user has put in their Lifechart reasoning.
Once you have found someone with whom you are interested in communicating, you can send them a message via Zmail. Simply click on the "send message" link below their name on their resume.
To leave a group, you can either go to the "Preferences" section, beneath the map on the group page and click the "click here" link under "Edit Membership".
Alternatively, go to the Group Directory and click "leave group" in the relevant group’s summary box.
Zmail is the group’s internal messaging service, which enables you to communicate with other alums, without having to worry about receiving spam to your mailbox. The service is only available for users within your group.
On the blue menu bar, click on "Zmail" and the submenu includes "inbox" and "sent items" links
To send someone a zmail message, you can either go to their resume from the bubble on the map, and click the "send message" link below their name, or you can click the "send message" link in a user’s summary box after carrying out a search.
The message wall is at the bottom of the Group’s page, and it currently lists all messages in date order, with the most recent at the top.
At the bottom of the page are links saying "see all posts" and "post a new message".
Click on the "post a new message" link and type your message. If the group owner has requested to approve all posts, they will be sent a message detailing your post and asking them to approve it. If they have not opted to do this, it will go up straight away.
